Mark Finkelstein

President

Mark Finkelstein, a former litigation partner at Latham & Watkins and Jones Day, has more than 24 years of intellectual property and complex litigation experience. He has significant first-chair trial experience in both state and federal courts and has argued appeals before the Federal and Ninth Circuits, and the California Courts of Appeal. Mark is currently a partner at the litigation boutique Umberg Zipser.

Mark has overseen litigation due diligence in connection with more than $1B of corporate mergers, and has evaluated hundreds of complex lawsuits at various stages of litigation. Mark is the past president of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL) Orange County and is a Lawyer Representative to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference.

Mark has been recognized for intellectual property litigation by Best Lawyers in America and Southern California Super Lawyers. Legal 500 and World Trademark Review have recommended Mark for trademark litigation, with World Trademark Review calling Mark "a bright, experienced litigator" with an "imposing courtroom presence" and "extensive first-chair trial experience before the federal courts," adding that he is "one of the smartest guys you would probably ever meet."

Mark obtained his B.A. from UCLA (magna cum laude) and his J.D. from the University of Southern California (order of the coif).
